Pure X Share 'Slip Away' Video and 'Alexandria' Track From Rare Ecstasy
Today, ahead of the release of Rare Ecstasy 2009-2019 on October 16th Pure X have shared a new cut from their rarities and b-sides album. The new single is the smoked-out, driving and hazy track, “Alexandria”. Alongside the single the band has released a stunning black and white music video accompanying “Slip Away”, which initially came out on their self-titled album earlier this year. Rare Ecstasy was announced on the heels of the band’s critically celebrated first album in 6 years that saw universal acclaim from outlets like Pitchfork, Stereogum, Paste, Brooklyn Vegan, Aquarium Drunkard, All Music, Line of Best Fit, Exclaim, Under The Radar, NME and Spin. The LP was announced alongside a mesmeric cover of Willie Nelson's "One Day At A Time," the release is a collection of recordings and rarities that span the more than a decade career of the Austin underground legends. Comprising tracks that reflect what Pitchfork once called the “druggy, wall-of-sound escapism that put them on the map,” these 12 tracks embody the Pure X sound, breaking it down and offering up a raw emotive portrait that cycle the band’s expansive output.
