Monteagle Shares "June" Video
Watch the devastating video for Monteagle’s “June” from the debut album out last November. Directed by Drew Bourdet and shot by Dustin Lane.
"There is an enormous pressure to craft short form media into commercial trends. A swift paced edit, visually indulgent images and inoffensive content is easy enough to digest, but it commonly feels empty. Justin’s music brings an earnest feeling alongside lyrics and atmosphere that allowed cinematographer Dustin Lane and I the palette to create a film that was both patient and beautiful, but also confronting and melancholy. Grief is primal, and it’s okay to be sad. Exploring that emotion was a cathartic experience to capture, and I hope that it resonates. We shot this on 35mm film in rural California over the span of a few days. We intended on making this without the constriction of industry or micro management, and it was our great fortune that we were able to maintain that in our execution. Justin gave us the leg room to do our thing." - Drew Bourdet
