Dark Tea Shares "Finally on Time" Video, New Album out in April !
Dark Tea returns today with a new track and magical realist video from their forthcoming, self-titled second album out April 30 on Fire Talk Records. “Finally on Time” is the fourth single and video from the new album, following instant fan favorite singles “Highway Mile,” “Deanna,” and “Down for the Law.” Co-directed by Dark Tea bandleader Gary Canino and Frankie Carino, the “Finally on Time” video is a southern California retelling of Hans Christen Andersen’s Little Mermaid fairy tale, re-envisioned as a queer love story of redemption and transformation. The video costars Canino friends Chloe Saavedra (Chaos Chaos) and Bailey Wollowitz (Sloppy Jane) as skater and mermaid, two lives interwoven across time, space, and water, risking everything for a glimpse of immortality.
“The new track ‘Finally on Time’ is a piano ballad that revolves around a memory of driving through Northern California on tour,” says Canino. “Bands tend to bemoan the long drive from San Francisco to Portland, and this song celebrates it. It’s about coming home from tour but wishing you were still on ‘the 105,’ whichever road that might be.”
