Hannah Frances is back. Amidst her current UK/EU tour, the Vermont-based singer-songwriter returns today to release her new single/video, “Circadian Heart.” Following Frances’ acclaimed 2025 Fire Talk debut Nested in Tangles — heralded as “Album of the Week” by Stereogum, one of the year’s best albums by Pitchfork, UPROXX, NPR Music and more, and earned Hannah Frances a “Going Up” profile from Hearing Things — “Circadian Heart” doubles down on “the absolute clarity of Frances’ songwriting voice” (The Guardian). Beginning with skittering percussion and Frances’ singular vocal performance, “Circadian Heart” transforms into a sprawling composition of saxophone swells, stabs of piano, and intricate guitar-work. “Who was I before I learned I wasn’t enough?,” Frances asks in a signature moment of emotional lucidity. “Who was I before I learned to work for love?”
“Circadian Heart” arrives as Hannah Frances tours Europe and the United Kingdom, with remaining performances including a headline London show as well as festival appearances in Brighton, Barcelona, and Guimaraes, Portugal. Frances’ current overseas run wraps a year of touring in support of Nested in Tangles, which was released to rapturous praise from critics and fans alike for its “ambitious, abstract arrangements” (Uncut).
