Kassie Krut & Panda Bear Rework "Hooh Beat" | Expanded EP Out June 6!
Today, Kassie Krut — the "timelessly thrilling" (i-D) New York City trio of Eve Alpert, Kasra Kurt, and Matt Anderegg — announce an expanded remix EP of their 2024 self-titled debut (out June 6th via Fire Talk Records), and present its lead single, “Hooh Beat - Panda Bear Remix.” Kassie Krut (Expanded EP) taps a hand-selected line-up to reimagine Kassie Krut’s “jagged, delirious” (FADER) debut. Alongside Panda Bear, Kassie Krut (Expanded EP) features contributions from DJ Travella, The JLB (of Kero Kero Bonito), COIDO, and Container. The remixes span from hyper-charged merengue-inflected bangers, breakneck beats, and cacophonies of noise. It’s an eclectic mosaic that follows a year in which Kassie Krut collected Best of 2024 praise from Pitchfork, Stereogum, The Guardian, Mix Mag, NPR Music, Paste, Hearing Things and more.
Next month, Kassie Krut will join Panda Bear for a run of US tour dates alongside Toro y Moi. Surrounding the joint dates, Kassie Krut will perform a handful of headlining shows. A full list of tour dates are below, and tickets are on sale now.

On Kassie Krut’s self-produced, self-titled debut EP, their approach is deceptively simple. With a constrained palette and a penchant for repetition, they find a world of opposing textures and timbres: electric and acoustic, synthetic and organic, smooth and frictive, terrestrial and celestial. Their scratch-made sounds melodize the hard-edged noise of daily life—car alarms, notification chimes, dial tones, feedback—setting it against stutter-step high hats, pots-and-pans percussion, and tensile bass tones that thrash around in the head like a rubber ball.
