Today, lots of hands, the Newcastle-upon-Tyne duo of Billy Woodhouse and Elliot Dryden, present their back catalog, three albums, “mistake”, “fantasy” and “there's someone in this room just like you” available for pre order now on limited edition cassettes via our Angel Tapes imprint.
Since originally meeting in 2019, lots of hands have cultivated a transnational following for their unique synthesis of indie rock and folk with ambient and electronic flourishes. lots of hands have performed across Europe supporting the likes of Claire Rousay, Deerhoof, Fire Talk labelmates Cola and fellow UK experimentalists Blue Bendy, often incorporating live saxophone and flute to help render their orchestral recordings onstage. In the span of three years, lots of hands have released a steady stream of music — 2020’s debut LP, mistake, 2021’s instrumental and sample forward there’s someone in this room just like you, and 2022’s cult favorite, mole — amassing a dedicated audience, eager to see where the duo ventures next.

'fantasy' is the 3rd full-length from lots of hands. A 2023 cult favorite, 'fantasy' emerges from lots of hands' hometown of Newcastyle upon Tyne, but its music connects continents of fans with its deeply emotive lo-fi rock. Anchored by the core duo of Billy Woodhouse and Elliot Dryden, lots of hands often expands into the orchestral, incorporating saxophone, flute and more. The songs range from ambient instrumentals to slacker rock to bright twang, connected by an indelible heart on the sleeve.

'there's someone in this room just like you' is the sophomore LP from UK band lots of hands. Expanding on the ambient impulses of their debut 'mistake' and the subsequent 'fantasy,' 'there's someone...' is entirely composed of ambient instrumentals. The resulting effort weaves together live instruments, electronics, and wide-reaching samples to create an entirely unique soundscape. Clocking in at 20 minutes, the LP never overstays its welcome, and gestures at lots of hands' vast palette.
