PACKS Shares New Track + Video "New TV" From Debut Album 'Take the Cake'

PACKS returns today with a new track and endearingly imaginative video from the forthcoming debut album out May 14th digitally and July 9th on vinyl.

Described by FADER "as calculatedly laconic as Steven Malkmus", the track captures the way that PACKS are "reinventing the slacker soundtrack" (So Young), creating an almost dream-like atmosphere under Madeline Link's loose drawl.

"New TV" is the latest in PACKS' short yet incisive vignettes on the unexpected beauty and melancholy that comes with navigating the everyday. Directed by Eva Link, the tongue-in-cheek video sees PACKS projected on billboards across the Toronto metropolitan area, interpolating a trippy sense of sci-fi reality where nothing is totally as it seems. PACKS speaks further on the inspiration for the track:

I got the chance to witness a craigslist transaction of two bros selling a hideous pink couch to an eager young man with a U-HAUL. As they lovingly demonstrated the LA-Z-BOY function, everyone seemed pretty impressed. New TV boxes and old couches litter curbs every garbage day. This song goes out to other people’s garbage.”
