Robber Robber Announce New Album, Headlining Tour, & Unveil New Single/Video!
Robber Robber announce their new album, Two Wheels Move the Soul (out April 3rd via Fire Talk Records), a headlining US tour, and unveil their new single/video, “The Sound It Made.” On Two Wheels Move the Soul, Robber Robber — Nina Cates (vocals/guitar), Zack James (percussion), Will Krulak (guitar), and Carney Hemler (bass) — collect a series of pressurized vignettes to assemble a thrillingly explosive statement. Propelled by Cates’ nonchalant bars, influenced by the effortlessly cool cadence of Gucci Mane and Lou Reed, Two Wheels Move the Soul spans post-punk scorchers, burnt-out slacker anthems, and melodies to sweeten every bitter pill swallowed along the way.
Two Wheels Move the Soul opener and lead single “The Sound It Made” rattles into existence, eschewing exposition to plunge directly in the deep end. “Wanna spend a while just me and you // Got sports on the radio, and away we go,” Cates begins, freewheeling into a dissection of revolution, sun allergies, and hating the rain while loving the sound it made. Accompanied by a stunning music video helmed by Wes Sterrs, “The Sound It Made” visual sees Robber Robber amidst an eerie industrial backdrop that perfectly encapsulates Two Wheels Move the Soul’s sense of suffocating doom.
