Wild Pink Shares John Moreland Collab From 'Dulling the Horns (Deluxe Edition)' !

Earlier this summer, Wild Pink — the songwriting project of NYC’s John Ross — announced plans for Dulling The Horns (Deluxe Edition), a compilation of guest reworks, alternate mixes, and live tracks from Wild Pink’s beloved live performances. Today, Ross taps the Tulsa, Oklahoma singer-songwriter John Moreland for their new single, “The Fences of Stonehenge - Edit,” a propulsive finger-pick driven rework of Dulling The Horns’ “rollicking alt-country” (Paste) album opener. Praised by Brooklyn Vegan for “find[ing] Wild Pink’s heartland indie rock in fine form,” the original steely crunch of “The Fences of Stonehenge” is swapped here for an acoustic intimacy that emphasizes the universal appeal of Ross’ songwriting, and Moreland’s timeless guitar prowess. Their resulting collaboration is transportive, reflective, and further evidence that “Wild Pink are indie perfection” (CLASH).

Dulling The Horns is coarse, lived-in, visceral — music intended to be played live, with pounding rhythms and guitars bleeding all over. “I wanted to make economical songs,” Ross explains. “Music that is very much at its core three or four people rocking.” Surrounding its release, Dulling The Horns was named one of 2024’s best albums by Vogue, Toronto Star, UPROXX, Consequence and more. Widely regarded as Wild Pink’s best album to-date, Dulling The Horns ‘received praise from critics and fans alike heralding  the album as “more fun than anything in [Wild Pink’s] catalog” (Pitchfork). Following its release, Wild Pink embarked on a lengthy tour in support of the album, with one final show tomorrow, September 4th at NYC’s Sultan Room.
