Young Prisms’ first music in nearly a decade, “Yourside”, stays true to the band’s “shadowy, reverb-smothered guitar rock” (Pitchfork) and “haunting romanticism” (Consequence of Sound). A step forward from the early oughts shoegaze that put the band on the map. Vocalist Stefanie Hodapp’s vocals anchor the frequencies to create something both alluring and uplifting. Recorded in their home town of San Francisco with production from Shaun Durkan (Weekend/Soft Kill) and mastered by Heba Kadry the new material marks a sea change for a band who's found a new stride creatively with a plethora of life changes (motherhood, aging) to draw from.
